Joe Horvath: A Lifetime of Painting and Drawing

Joe was born in Hungary, and attended art school in his native country. He later immigrated to Canada. He studied commercial art in Quebec. Later on he started oil painting, but also continued his drawings and sketches in coloured pencils. Eventually Joe and his family settled in British Columbia. Joe now lives close to Salmo, B.C. He has bee every involved in various art clubs and workshops, including the VISAC Art Galleryin Trail. He has been active at the Creston Art Club, where he mentored coloured pencil workshops. Joe enters as many art shows as possible. He is the owner of Joe’s Art Gallery in Salmo, which is open to the public year round.
